प्रिय डायरी

इस साल गर्मियों की छुट्टियों में बड़ा आनंद आया। हम अपने दादा दादी के घर 

फरीदाबाद  गए थे। पहले दिन हम सब भाई बहनों ने घर पर अनेक खेल खेले।

दूसरे दिन शाम को हमलोग बाज़ार घूमने गए।

तीसरे दिन ह्मोलोगों ने वहाँ की प्रसिद्ध चाट, गोल गप्पे, कुल्फी, छोला बटूरा आदि बड़े मज़े से खाए।

चौथे दिन ने घर के सदस्यों के साथ फोटो खींचीं और साथ में समय व्यतीत करा।

पाँचवे दिन हमलोग रेल से वापस आये।

इस प्रकार गर्मी की छुट्टियाँ बहुत जल्दी पूर्ण हो गयीं।

Every country has its own culture however, France is rich in its culture. 

France is famous for its art, literature, philosophy, fashion, cuisine, and wine. Additionally, the idea of “joie de vivre” (joy of living) is an important aspect of French culture. It can be seen in their appreciation for leisurely activities such as enjoying a café au lait (coffee) or a glass of wine with friends.

The French motto “Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity” reflects the values of French society. Equality and unity are important to the French. The French also value style and sophistication, and they take pride in the beauty and artistry of their country. 

Family is also highly valued in French culture. Mealtimes are often shared with family, and extended-family gatherings and meals are common over the weekend.

French Cuisine

Meals in France are meant to be enjoyed. Food is made with great care, and mealtimes are a prime time for socializing. While French cooking is recognized around the world, there are many varieties in cooking styles, ingredients, and dishes from region to region. For example, Normandy cuisine is known for seafood and cheeses while Burgundy is known for beef.

That being said, traditional French cuisine is characterized by its cheeses, wines, breads, and sauces. Recently, French cuisine has shifted to reflect lighter fare rather than the more traditional heavy sauces and complicated preparations.

Breakfast in French culture is typically light: a French pastry or bread served with a hot beverage. Lunch and dinner, on the other hand, are considered to be the main meals of the day. Formal meals will have four courses: a starter, a salad, a main course, and a cheese or dessert course.

French Fashion

Paris is often regarded as the fashion capital of the world. It is home to several worldwide brands such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel. France became a major influencer in fashion beginning with the reign of Louis XIV in the 1600s. During that time, France became known for its luxury goods throughout Europe.

Today, French style can be described as sophisticated and fashionable. A typical outfit may include dresses or suits with long coats and scarves.

French Art and Media

The arts are deeply appreciated in French traditions. Hobbies and professions are historically shown deep respect for the craftsmanship that goes into them. French literature, painting, and cinema are all historically significant around the world. Works such as Les Misérables or artists such as Monet are some of the most recognizable in the world.

If you travel to France, understanding these French traditions might help you prepare:

Greetings

• Kissing on the left cheek and then the right cheek is a common greeting for informal woman-to-man, woman-to-woman, or man-to-woman interactions

• Handshakes are a common greeting for man-to-man interactions or formal settings

• When getting someone’s attention, start by saying “Bonjour Madame/Monsieur”

Public Behavior

• Patrons bag their own food at grocery stores

A total of twenty financial terms that every student should be aware of - 

1. Annual percentage rate

Annual percentage rate, or APR, is the yearly interest rate charged on borrowed money. The rate is expressed as a percentage and indicates how much interest the borrower will pay over the course of a year.

2. Asset

An asset is any resource (tangible or intangible, owned or controlled) that holds value. In other words, assets contain value that can be converted into money. An individual, company, or country can own or control assets, which include things like cash, investments, art, technology, real estate, and intellectual property.

3. Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy is a legal status that a person or entity can enter when they're unable to repay their debts. Bankruptcy shields borrowers from debt collection, but it requires that they sell their assets to repay the money they owe. Bankruptcy carries significant financial consequences.

4. Budget

A budget is a plan for using income to meet financial obligations. It tracks how much income a person receives and details how that money will be allocated to pay for expenses, build savings, and meet financial goals.

5. Comparison shopping

Comparison shopping is a strategy that consumers can use to save money on purchases. It consists of comparing the prices of similar products to determine which is least expensive.

6. Credit

Credit is a financial arrangement in which money is borrowed for a purchase and paid back at a later date. It allows consumers to make purchases that they wouldn’t be able to afford if they had to pay the full price in one installment. By spreading the cost over time, credit enables borrowers to make big-ticket purchases such as homes and vehicles. Common forms of credit include loans and credit cards.

7. Credit report

A credit report is a record of a borrower’s credit history. It is produced by the credit bureaus and typically consists of four sections: personal information, financial account history, history of credit applications, and public records. The information in a credit report is used to calculate a consumer’s credit score, which is one of the primary factors that lenders consider when evaluating a credit application.

8. Credit score

A credit score is a three-digit number that represents how likely a borrower is to repay a debt. It is calculated based on the information in a borrower’s credit report and ranges from 300 to 850. Borrowers with higher scores are viewed as more likely to repay debt obligations and are thus more likely to be approved for credit and receive lower interest rates.

9. Creditworthiness

Creditworthiness is a term that refers to how much confidence a lender can have in a borrower’s ability to repay a loan. Creditworthiness is primarily determined by how well a borrower has managed previous debt obligations.

10. Debit card

Unlike a credit card, a debit card immediately withdraws funds from the user’s bank account. Debit cards are less likely to contribute to excessive debt than credit cards, but users face fees if they overdraw their account.

11. Debt

Debt is the money that a borrower owes to a lender. It can be accrued through any form of borrowing—credit cards, mortgages, personal loans, and auto loans among others.

12. Default

Default occurs when a borrower is unable to meet the obligation of debt repayment. Default is the second and more serious stage of nonpayment that follows the stage of delinquency. Once a loan enters default, the lender typically reports it to the credit bureaus and sells the debt to a collection agency.

13. Diversification

A core principle of investing, diversification spreads investments over different assets with varied risk potential. Diversification is a strategy to reduce the overall risk of loss.

14. Emergency fund

An emergency fund is money set aside for big, unexpected expenses such as job loss or large medical bills. It provides a financial buffer that shields against accruing unwanted debt.

15. Income

Income is money received through sources such as employment, investments, or business transactions. There are two ways to measure income: gross income and net income. Gross income is the total amount that’s earned before expenses, taxes, and other costs. Net income is what remains after these expenses are deducted.

16. Interest

Interest is the percentage of a loan principal that lenders charge borrowers. There are two primary kinds of interest: simple interest and compound interest. Simple interest is calculated exclusively on the initial amount of money borrowed, while compound interest is calculated based on the loan principal plus the interest that accumulates each period.

17. Lend

To allow somebody to use somtning for a short time or to give somebody money that must be paid back after a certain period of time.

18. Need vs. want

One of the most basic concepts of personal finance is being able to differentiate between needs and wants. A “need” is defined as an essential expense, such as food or housing. A “want” is an expense that would be nice to have but isn't essential, such as designer clothing.

19. Pay yourself first

Pay yourself first, or PYF, is a strategy in which saving is prioritized and made an essential cost in a budget. Typically, in PYF a certain percentage of income is deposited in a savings account each month. Just as other “needs” such as rent and food are essential, so is saving, and only once those “need” expenses are covered can money be used for “want” purchases.

20. Principal

Principal is the amount of money due on a loan before interest.

21. Time value of money

Time value of money, or TVM, is the concept that money available now is worth more than an identical amount in the future. This is because money that’s invested has the potential to grow, and the longer that it’s invested, the more it will appreciate. Money that’s acquired later has less time to grow through investments, and is thus considered less valuable.

Vegetarian Hot Pot

This food has a history of more than thousand of years and Yuanyang region of China is regarded as the home of hotpot. It is generally assumed that the hotpot tradition came from Mongol warriors and horsemen who camped outside and had dinner together circled around a pot on teh fire - it was a way to keep warm, while eating at the same time. 

A quick to prepare, this Asian-style noodle soup has all the makings of a one-pot meal. To punch up the heat, add a dab of chile-garlic sauce.

Yield : 5 main-dish servings, about one and a half cups each

Ingredients: 

1. Five cups vegetable broth

2. Four thick slices fresh ginger, peeled

3. Cloves Garlic, Crushed and peeled

4. Two teaspoons canola oil

5. Two cups shiitake mushrooms, stemmed, wiped clean and sliced

6.  Half a teaspoon crushed red peper 

7. One small bok choy, cut into half inch pieces, stems and greens separated

8. Hundred Grams Chinese wheat noodles, or rice sticks

9. One cut grated carrots

10. Four teaspoons rice vinegar

11. Two teaspoons soy sauce

12. Toasted one teaspoon sesame oil

13. Quarter cup chopped coriander

Directions

1. Combine broth, ginger and garlic in a Dutch oven; bring to a simmer. Simmer, partially covered, over medium-low heat for 15 minutes. Discard the ginger and garlic.

2. Meanwhile, heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and crushed red pepper; cook, stirring often, until tender, 3 to 5 minutes. Add bok choy stems; cook, stirring often, until tender, 3 to 4 minutes.

3. Add the mushroom mixture to the broth. Add noodles, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 3 minutes. Add bok choy greens and tofu; simmer until heated through, about 2 minutes. Stir in carrots, vinegar to taste, soy sauce and sesame oil. Serve garnished with scallions.

1. Warm drinks first in the morning:

Relish body with warm drinks right in the morning. Drinks like warm water plus a few drops of lemon and honey, turmeric water or ginger water helps your body to clear off the impurities.

It also helps feel relax and release stress out. It is one of the easiest and most effective home remedies for improving immune system.

2. Yogurt for Breakfast:

Probiotic foods like yogurt are not just high in protein but also great for boosting immune system. They are also rich in Vitamin A and zinc.

For a cup of organic Greek yogurt adding some cut fruits and favourite nuts like almonds or pistachios and some granola. Adding a spoon of cinnamon powder and honey make it healthy and tasty.

This fills you up until your lunch giving you more energy and boosting your immune system.

3.  Frequent teatime with green tea:

While having frequent teatime sounds like a decrease in productivity, in reality it improves ability to work before time and helps to deal with work stress.

Green teas are composed of antioxidants called polyphenols that help boost immunity. This home remedy for increasing immune power is most effective for the workaholics out there.

4. Foods that should be mandatory:

There are thousands of vegetables and fruits which helps increase immune power, boosting it to fight off the invaders.

Vegetables like broccoli, spinach, fruits like citrus fruits, papaya, kiwi contain antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that are rich in vitamins and minerals. These properties provide you with an improved immune system.

Chicken meat is high with protein. Soup with vegetables and some amount of chicken and have it as a lunch or dinner.

It keeps us fuller and refreshing. Not just chicken meat, shellfish are a great source of vitamins and minerals. They play a major part in boosting immunity.  Vitamin B and C are water soluble and hence these are needed to be replenished in our body frequently. 

5. Garlic to the rescue:

Garlic’s anti-inflammatory properties make it a common home remedy to boost your immune system. It is easily available and widely known. The benefits of garlic also include lowering of blood pressure and cholesterol and reduces risk of cancer.

For the good results, crush or chop a few garlic cloves and have it raw with warm water as warm water keeps its fumes down during digestion in the morning. It is the most effective home remedy for strengthening the immune system. Above all it opens our blocked arteries and keeps our heart young.

6. Snacking with nuts:

It is common to feel hungry in between meals. Especially if working from home. Generally, we tend to open a chip’s packets or high calorie cookies.

Instead, munching on nuts and raisins like almonds, walnuts, pistachios. They are rich in Vitamin E and taste amazing. Nuts can be added in salads or meals as per your convenience.

7. Yoga for half an hour in the morning:

Yoga unites our soul with our body. Yoga means yog or addition. Yoga keeps us healthy and fit as during yoga our muscles stretch and blood flow occurs which leads to healthy tissues and cells. Yoga helps body remove bacteria out of our lungs and airways.

They lead to positive changes in white blood cells and antibodies which are majorly fighting off viruses and other invaders.

Yoga also deters release of stress hormones protecting mentally. The body temperature increases during and after exercise which prevents bacteria growth.

8. Self-time and Family time:

Spending time alone is under-rated since ages. The time spend alone knowing and understanding internal mind helps to grow mentally strong and releases hormone required for the body.

Indirectly this prepares body cells to fight more and grow stronger with the immune system.

When we spend time with ourselves or meditate we understand our actions, needs, responsiveness to surrounding which keeps us active and early available to the needs. Studies have shown spending time with ourselves makes strong brain body connection which makes our organs active.  When we spend time with family we feel happy and satisfied ultimately releases hormones which keeps us active.

9. Drink plenty of water:

This is a major home remedy for keeping up with immune system. Keep a one litre bottle with and fill in the bottle with water as and when it is empty. Drink an ounce of water each time holding the bottle.

Nitrogenous waste keeps accumulating in our body and needs plenty of water to remove it. Majority of our body is made of water. 

This is the cheapest of home remedies for boosting immune system. It keeps hydrated, and stomach feels fuller avoiding overeating.

10. Get enough sleep:

When asleep, body’s immune system releases a type of proteins called cytokines, and antibodies and cells that fight infections.

If we do not get enough sleep the production of antibodies and cells decrease affecting your immune system negatively.

These home remedies for boosting your immune system, can only be effective if you are consistent with following them. Follow each remedy with utmost dedication, for if you do so, no virus can break us off.
